Washington State Supreme Court Steps in to Review Wall Street’s $4B Cash Grab in Kroger-Albertsons Deal

December 16, 2022 — On Friday, December 16, the Washington State Supreme Court granted a further stay of Albertsons’ $4 billion special dividend payout to investors, to allow for further review of the anticompetitive effects. The Supreme Court granted this review on the basis that the Superior Court had committed an obvious or probable error by refusing to enjoin the payout.
